Jennifer is a known local musician, performing solo, duo with other artists, in ensemble with the Doorway Singers, and as a flutist/penny whistle player with Celtica. She has sung and played in many regional venues in Hampton Roads, including the Neptune Festival, Beach Street USA, First Night Williamsburg, and Virginia Beach Town Center. A little background
When Jennifer began picking out songs she heard at church by ear on the piano at the age of 5, her parents knew it was time to enroll her in piano lessons. Jennifer excelled as a student, never having to be told to practice. She studied piano and later flute in private lessons. In high school Jennifer performed in several All-State bands and as a junior and senior became a part of the prestigious Syracuse Symphony Youth Orchestra. Her journey also led her naturally into church music since her father was a pastor and her family spent much of their time at church. Jennifer pursued music ministry at Elim Bible Institute (Lima, NY). To complete her degree, she moved to Virginia Beach to study at Regent University and complete Integrity Music's "Worship and Renewal" program. There she met her husband and became involved in the local music scene. Her first season with the Doorway Singers cultivated a love for the stage and a desire to perform. Jennifer also explored writing original music and performing pop and Celtic music. Her dream is to write, perform, and produce, and to make a difference with her music. Jennifer lives in Virginia Beach, VA with her husband Christopher, their children Esther and Evan, and two cats. |
